The delivery valve controls the end of injection by retracting a measured volume of fuel from the line so delivery cuts off cleanly. This one is supplied oversize for rotor bores that have been reworked during rebuild. Stanadyne part number 13828, from the company that builds the pumps these components go into.

Oversize valves are matched to the rotor bore and are used only where the standard size no longer seals.
