Air Intake Systems
A diesel needs a lot of clean, cool air to make power, and the factory intake on most trucks is built for quiet operation more than airflow. An aftermarket intake system opens up the path from the filter to the turbo inlet, which can help lower exhaust gas temperatures, improve throttle response and let you hear the turbo a little more.
Most of what we carry are cold air intake systems from aFe, K&N, Banks, Injen, Airaid and AEM, built for specific Power Stroke, Cummins, Duramax and EcoDiesel trucks. We also carry ram-air intakes, snorkels and raised air intakes from ARB for water crossings and dusty trails, air scoops and heat shields, and replacement parts and service kits for keeping an existing intake in shape.
When you compare intakes, look at the filter type. Oiled cotton filters flow well and can be cleaned and reused, while dry synthetic filters are easier to service and do not need oil. Either way, check the fit for your exact year and engine, since intake designs change between generations.
