Cooling Fans

The cooling fan pulls air through the radiator and intercooler when the truck is moving slowly or sitting still. On a diesel, that is when cooling matters most: idling in traffic, crawling up a grade with a trailer, or working at low speed in the heat. A worn fan clutch or failing electric fan is a common cause of overheating in those conditions.

This collection includes fans and fan clutches from SPAL, Mishimoto, D&W, Alliant Power, Hella, PPE and Grizzly. We carry electric cooling fans for custom setups and conversions, mechanical fans and fan clutches for trucks that use an engine-driven fan, and fan controllers, relays and wiring for electric fan installs.

A good test for a fan clutch is to spin the fan by hand with the engine off and cold: if it spins freely several times, the clutch may be worn. Electric fan conversions free up some power and give you more control, but make sure the fan moves enough air for your truck's cooling needs, especially if you tow.
