Oil System Components

Oil System Components covers the parts that pump, cool, filter and route engine oil on a diesel. Oil does more than lubricate: it cools the turbo and pistons and, on some engines, operates the fuel injectors. A healthy oil system is critical to engine life, especially under heavy load.

Shop oil coolers and thermostats from Mishimoto, CSF and others, oil pumps and pickup tubes, oil filter housings, adapters and relocation kits, and oil lines, fittings and hardware. For race and high-performance builds, we also carry dry sump systems and accumulators from Moroso. Brands include Grizzly, Alliant Power, D&W, PPE, Vibrant and Bosch.

On the 6.0L Power Stroke, a clogged oil cooler is a well-known cause of EGR cooler failure. Watching the difference between oil and coolant temperature is a good way to spot a failing oil cooler early, and a monitor can show both at a glance. For oil pans and drain plugs, see Oil Pans.
