A/C Compressors

The A/C compressor is the pump that moves refrigerant through the air conditioning system. When it fails, you lose cooling in the cab, and a compressor that fails internally can send debris through the rest of the system. This collection focuses on compressors and clutches for heavy-duty and commercial applications.

We carry remanufactured A/C compressors from D&W, including Thermo King X426 and X430 units, Carrier 05G compressors, and Bitzer compressors used on MCI motor coaches and Blue Bird buses. We also carry replacement A/C clutches for MCI and Prevost coach applications.

When replacing a compressor, the system should be flushed, the receiver-drier or accumulator should be replaced, and the correct oil and refrigerant charge should be used. Skipping those steps is a common reason a new compressor fails early. Many remanufactured compressors carry a core charge that is refunded when the old unit is returned. For condensers and evaporators, see A/C Condensers & Evap.

Not a side department. Injectors, pumps, and turbos, day in and day out — which is why we catch things a general shop misses.
