Fuel Contamination Kits
When a high-pressure fuel pump fails internally, metal debris can travel through the entire fuel system: the rails, lines, injectors and return lines. Replacing only the pump leaves that debris in place, and it can quickly destroy the new parts. A fuel contamination kit replaces everything that the debris may have reached.
This collection includes complete contamination and "disaster" kits from Industrial Injection, Grizzly and Alliant Power for Duramax LML and L5P engines and 6.7L Power Stroke trucks, which are the engines most affected by CP4 failures. Kits typically include a new injection pump, injectors, fuel rails, high-pressure lines and related parts, and some versions include a CP3 conversion to avoid another CP4 failure.
Signs of a contaminated fuel system include sudden loss of power, a no-start after a pump failure, and metal flakes in the fuel filter. The fuel tank and supply lines should also be flushed before the new parts go in. Fuel system repairs like this are our specialty, so contact us if you need help diagnosing a failure.
