Head Studs & Fasteners covers the bolts, studs and hardware that hold a diesel engine together. Factory head bolts on many diesels are torque-to-yield and can stretch under high cylinder pressure, letting the head lift and the gasket fail. Head studs clamp harder and more evenly, which is why they are one of the first upgrades on a modified diesel.

Shop head studs and bolts from ARP for Cummins, Duramax and Power Stroke engines, along with flywheel, balancer and crank bolts, exhaust and turbo studs, accessory bolt kits, bulk nuts, bolts and washers and thread lube and assembly compounds. We also carry quick-release pins and Dzus fasteners from Moroso for race and fabrication work.

Always use the lubricant and torque sequence specified by the fastener maker. ARP studs in particular are torqued with their own assembly lube, and using the wrong one changes the clamping force. Head studs can often be installed with the engine in the truck, one at a time, without removing the head.
