Water Pumps
The water pump keeps coolant moving through the engine, radiator and heater core. On a diesel, a weak or leaking water pump is one of the most common causes of overheating, and it often fails gradually: a small weep from the weep hole, a noisy bearing or a slow temperature rise when towing.
Shop mechanical water pumps from D&W, Alliant Power, Gates, Grizzly, Cummins and Bosch for Cummins, Duramax, Power Stroke and heavy-duty diesel engines. We also carry electric and remote water pumps from Moroso and others for custom and auxiliary cooling, plus water pump gaskets, hardware and rebuild parts.
If your water pump is belt-driven, it is a good time to replace the belt and tensioner too, since you already have them off. Many engines also call for a new thermostat and coolant flush with a water pump replacement. Always use the coolant type your engine maker specifies, and do not mix coolant types.
