Up-Pipes
Up-pipes connect the exhaust manifolds to the turbocharger on V8 diesel engines like the Duramax and Power Stroke. The factory up-pipes on many of these trucks use bellows or slip joints that wear out and start leaking over time, which shows up as an exhaust smell in the cab, a ticking noise, soot on the firewall and slower turbo spool.
This collection includes stainless steel up-pipe kits from Wehrli, PPE, BD Diesel and Grizzly for Duramax LB7 through L5P engines, along with complete gasket and bolt kits. Many kits use a larger diameter than stock and better slip joints or flex sections, so they seal better and flow more exhaust to the turbo. Some kits are sold by side, so check whether you need the driver side, passenger side or both.
Replace the up-pipe gaskets and bolts any time you remove the pipes, and use anti-seize on the hardware. If your exhaust manifolds are also cracked or warped, it is a good time to look at exhaust manifolds as well.
