Intercoolers
A turbocharger heats air as it compresses it, and hot air carries less oxygen. The intercooler cools that air back down before it reaches the engine, which means more power, lower exhaust gas temperatures and less stress on pistons and the turbo. On a diesel that tows or runs added power, the intercooler does a lot of work.
Shop direct-fit intercoolers by engine family: Power Stroke, Cummins and Duramax upgrades from Mishimoto, CSF, Banks, PPE and aFe that replace the factory unit with a larger, stronger core. For custom builds, we carry universal intercoolers and cores, air-to-water and ice tank systems, and end tanks, brackets and hardware.
Factory intercoolers with plastic end tanks can crack under high boost and heat, which shows up as a boost leak and low power. A bar-and-plate core with cast aluminum end tanks is the usual fix, and it pairs well with upgraded intercooler pipes and boots.
