Royal Purple Duralec Ultra SAE 10W-30 in a 55-gallon drum, part number 87456, is the bulk package for operations standardizing on the Ultra formulation. Duralec Ultra is built around Royal Purple's proprietary Synerlec additive technology, which the manufacturer rates at up to four times the film strength of leading competitors.
Duralec Ultra is often chosen by owners running out-of-warranty or older high-output diesels, where the extended drain and wear numbers matter more than holding an API license. Drum quantity requires a pump and mechanical handling at delivery.

Royal Purple recommends Duralec Ultra 10W-30 where the following are called for: ACEA E7-16 and E9-16; Caterpillar ECF-1, ECF-2 and ECF-3; Cummins CES 20076, 20077, 20078, 20081 and 20086; Daimler MB 228.3 and 228.31; Detroit Diesel DFS 93K214 and 93K222; Ford WSS-M2C171-F1; Mack EO-N Premium Plus and EO-S 4.5; MTU Type 2 and 2.1; Renault RLD, RLD-2 and RLD-4; and Volvo VDS-3 and VDS 4.5.
Royal Purple recommends Duralec Ultra for heavy-duty duty cycles including commuting, over-the-road trucking, agriculture, construction and mining, on and off highway. Check the oil specification in your owner's manual before switching.
Royal Purple states that Duralec Ultra meets or exceeds the performance requirements of API CK-4, CJ-4 and CI-4+, but that it is not an API-licensed CK-4 oil. If your engine warranty requires a licensed CK-4 oil, use Duralec Super instead.
