Red Line MT-90 75W90 GL-4 Manual Transmission Gear Oil - 5 Gallon

Red Line MT-90 is the most widely applied gear oil in the GL-4 manual transmission family. It is safe for brass synchros specifically because it lacks the reactive sulfurs found in most GL-5 gear oils, which is what makes those oils unsuitable for a manual gearbox. This is the five-gallon pail, sized for shops and for owners running the same fluid across a fleet or a stable of cars.

Key Features

• Synthetic polyol ester base stocks with a high viscosity index for stable viscosity across temperature
• Friction coefficient tuned to synchronize gears in most manual transmission synchronizers
• Safe for brass and fiber synchros
• Balanced slipperiness for easier shifting, including in cold climates

Applications

Manual transmissions specifying a 75W90 GL-4 gear oil. Red Line lists MT-90 as popular in Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, VW and Audi, Lotus Elise and Exige and Toyota applications, plus Mendeola transmissions and Atlas transfer cases for off-road use. It satisfies API GL-1, GL-3 and GL-4 and most special synchromesh fluids, and also meets SAE 10W40 and 15W40 motor oil viscosity requirements.
