This is the accessory drive belt idler pulley for Jeep 2.8L diesel applications. Unlike the tensioner, the idler is fixed in place and simply guides the serpentine belt along its route, so a worn bearing here usually shows up as belt squeal or a rumble from the front of the engine rather than as a tension problem. It bolts into the factory mounting point as a direct replacement.
