Motul 8100 X-clean 5W-40 is a 100% synthetic ACEA C3 engine oil for cars running turbocharged direct injection diesel or gasoline engines. The reduced SAPS chemistry keeps it compatible with diesel particulate filters and catalytic converters.

Applications and Notes
Motul lists BMW LL-04 as a performance level for this oil rather than a current approval, and limits it to models up to 2019. For 2019 and newer vehicles requiring an approved BMW LL-04 lubricant, Motul directs users to 8100 X-clean+ 5W-30, 8100 X-clean EFE 5W-30, 8100 X-clean Gen2 5W-40 or Specific LL-04 5W-40. Motul also lists recommendations for Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki, SsangYong, Hyundai and Kia.
