Send-in upgrade service for the E42 ECM used in the latest generation L5P Duramax. Once HP Tuners upgrades the controller, the truck can be scanned, logged, and custom tuned through the OBDII port with VCM Suite — the first custom tuning solution available for this Global B platform.

2017-2023 L5P trucks use the E41 ECM and require the GM E41 ECM service instead.
Service Notes
- Only the original ECM from your vehicle is accepted — spare ECMs are not accepted under any circumstance
- ECMs with broken locking tabs or connectors are not accepted
- The vehicle VIN is required when the service is ordered
- A spare ECM must not be installed and relearned while the original is out for service
- Eight Universal Credits are required to license the upgraded ECM and are sold separately
- Tuning requires an MPVI3 or MPVI4 interface with the latest VCM Suite BETA and an internet connection
- HP Tuners notes the vehicle may need to be resynced at a dealer after this service
