Holset 288211100 New Turbocharger. Application: Cummins 15.0L ISX - EPA10. Variable geometry turbochargers use a ring of movable vanes in the turbine housing to change effective turbine area on the fly, giving fast low-rpm boost response, controlled boost at high rpm and the exhaust brake function the engine relies on. Worn vanes, a sticking unison ring or a failed actuator show up as low power, excessive drive pressure, poor exhaust brake performance and VGT position fault codes. This listing is supplied without an actuator; the existing actuator is reused or ordered separately. Holset has been the original-equipment turbocharger supplier to Cummins and other heavy-duty diesel manufacturers since the 1950s, and genuine Holset units are built to the same drawing, materials and balance specification as the turbocharger the engine left the factory with. Fitting a genuine Holset charger restores factory boost response, drive pressure and exhaust temperature control without the fitment guesswork that comes with will-fit replacements.
