Fire ring head gasket for the 6.7L Cummins at .066 inch thickness, using .105 inch wire at a 4.560 inch outside diameter. Intended for builds where cylinder pressure has climbed past what a factory gasket will contain, which in practice means somewhere north of 800 horsepower.
Key Features
- .066 inch (1.75mm) gasket thickness
- 4.560 inch wire outside diameter, .105 inch wire
- Groove specification: .017-.018 inch when cutting grooves in the head or block
Fitment
- 2007.5-2018 Dodge and Ram 6.7L Cummins 24-valve
Machining and Installation
- High-strength studs are required to achieve proper clamp load
- Cylinder head must be within .003 inch end to end; machining both head and block is best practice
- If the block is not surfaced, clean the deck with a 320 grit or finer stone to knock down high spots
- Always use a .120 inch radiused cutter for groove formation
- Torque to 130 ft-lbs at startup, hot retorque at operating temperature, then retorque at least once more before applying full load or RPM
- Each retorque reduces valve lash, so readjust as needed
- Lubricate nut, washer and threads liberally for consistent clamp load across all studs
- Never exceed the fastener manufacturer's torque limits
