Hamilton's towing and street grind, built for low-RPM torque and turbo spool rather than peak power. Duration is 178 degrees intake and 208 exhaust at .050 inch, with .290 inch and .310 inch lift, working from idle to about 4,000 RPM. The usual reasons to fit one are quicker spool on a large single turbo and a 200-300F drop in EGT while towing.

Clearance Requirements
- 12-valve: maximum .020 inch piston protrusion, minimum .055 inch valve face depth, standard head gasket, 99-degree intake centerline
- 24-valve: maximum .020 inch piston protrusion, minimum .038 inch valve face depth, standard head gasket
- All piston-to-valve and valvetrain clearances must be checked during installation
- If minimum clearance is not available, use an oversized head gasket or cut valve reliefs
Required Components
- Hamilton Cams warranties camshafts only when installed with Hamilton Cams tappets and valve springs.
- New tappets are recommended whenever a camshaft is replaced
Break-In and Oil
Flat-tappet valvetrains require 15W-40 oil with adequate zinc, phosphorus and molybdenum (5W-40 in sub-zero conditions). Approved oils include Valvoline, Schaeffer's, Mobil Delvac Extreme, LIQUI MOLY Touring High Tech, Driven Racing Oil and Shell Rotella.
