Complete 24-valve valvetrain package built around the 178/208 camshaft. The springs control the valvetrain to 4,500 RPM and 80 lbs of boost, the pushrods are rated past 3,000 HP, and the 1.45 inch tappets increase lobe contact area, so the parts are matched to each other rather than assembled piecemeal.

Installation Notes
- Verify piston-to-valve clearance during assembly
- If minimum clearance is not met, run an oversized head gasket or cut valve reliefs
Break-In and Oil
Apply quality assembly lube to the camshaft and tappet faces, prime the oil pump and filter on a fresh build, and crank with fuel disconnected until oil pressure is confirmed. Never allow the engine to start without oil pressure. Set valve lash after any hot retorque, then change oil and filter.
Flat-tappet valvetrains require 15W-40 oil with adequate zinc, phosphorus and molybdenum (5W-40 in sub-zero conditions). Approved oils include Valvoline, Schaeffer's, Mobil Delvac Extreme, LIQUI MOLY Touring High Tech, Driven Racing Oil and Shell Rotella.
