A complete 12-valve valvetrain package built around the 178/208 camshaft, Hamilton's quickest-spooling grind and the one they point to for trucks that work. Rather than mixing a cam with whatever springs are already in the head, this combines the camshaft with springs that control the valvetrain to 4,500 RPM and 80 lbs of boost, pushrods rated well beyond 2,000 HP, and 1.45 inch tappets for more lobe contact area.

Installation Notes
- Verify piston-to-valve clearance during assembly
- If minimum clearance is not met, run an oversized head gasket or cut valve reliefs
Break-In and Oil
Apply quality assembly lube to the camshaft and tappet faces, prime the oil pump and filter on a fresh build, and crank with fuel disconnected until oil pressure is confirmed. Never allow the engine to start without oil pressure. Set valve lash after any hot retorque, then change the oil and filter.
Flat-tappet valvetrains require 15W-40 oil with adequate zinc, phosphorus and molybdenum (5W-40 in sub-zero conditions). Approved oils include Valvoline, Schaeffer's, Mobil Delvac Extreme, LIQUI MOLY Touring High Tech, Driven Racing Oil and Shell Rotella.
