The factory inlet metering valve screen is the quiet failure point in a diesel fuel system — it blocks, flow drops, and the pump starves. The Exergy 04-05 Duramax LLY Inlet Metering Valve (store SKU xrgE05 10205) replaces it on the Duramax LLY.
- Replaces the factory inlet screen arrangement, which is the part that blocks and starves the pump as the fuel system ages.
- Cheap insurance relative to the pump it protects — the failure it prevents is an expensive one.
- Application-specific to the Duramax LLY fuel system rather than a universal part, so check the Fits line below against your own truck before ordering.
Fits: 2004-2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD/3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD/3500 HD with the 6.6L Duramax LLY. The 2004 split is mid-year: earlier-2004 trucks are LB7 and take an LB7 part instead.
