Holset 5327846H Turbocharger Speed Sensor Kit. Holset HE531V series. Application: 6.7L Cummins HE531V. The turbo speed sensor reports shaft speed to the ECM so it can hold the charger inside its safe operating map and protect against overspeed, which is a real risk on variable geometry chargers at altitude or with added fuel. A failed sensor typically triggers a derate along with turbo speed fault codes. Holset has been the original-equipment turbocharger supplier to Cummins and other heavy-duty diesel manufacturers since the 1950s, and genuine Holset units are built to the same drawing, materials and balance specification as the turbocharger the engine left the factory with.
