Holset 4030778H Pneumatic Wastegate Actuator Kit. Holset HY35W series. The pneumatic actuator uses boost pressure against a spring-loaded diaphragm to crack the wastegate open once target boost is reached, capping boost and protecting the engine. A ruptured diaphragm or seized rod causes overboost, underboost, boost fault codes and elevated drive pressure. Holset has been the original-equipment turbocharger supplier to Cummins and other heavy-duty diesel manufacturers since the 1950s, and genuine Holset units are built to the same drawing, materials and balance specification as the turbocharger the engine left the factory with.
